Rebecca Hegstad

Rebecca Annika Hegstad is the program leader for Barnehage, the Norwegian Pre-K program. She holds a B.A. in Scandinavian studies and elementary education from Luther College, and a masters degree in Scandinavian studies from the University of Wisconsin.

She worked on staff for 11 years at Skogfjorden and as an instructor of Norwegian at Augsburg College. Rebecca has also taught early childhood education, most recently at La Petite Academy in Brooklyn Park, Minn. She is the principal program designer and preschool program curriculum writer. Rebecca has two young children of her own.

Nicole Darcy

Nicole 達妮 (Dá Nī) Darcy

Nicole Darcy ()()  is a program leader for Mínghuì Yòuéryuán, CLV's Chinese Pre-K program. Dá Nī has decades of experience in teaching English and Chinese to learners of all ages, from preschool students to adults, she holds nearly a lifetime of language learning and teaching.

Minneapolis born, Dá Nī has spent over 20 years studying, living, working, and traveling outside of the USA. Most of that time has been amidst China and Taiwan. She studied in universities and has worked in Taiwan and China. Dá Nī has also spent extended periods of time studying-and-traveling in Thailand, India, South Africa, Ghana, and Denmark.

Dá Nī holds a B.A. in Asian Languages & Literatures from the University of Minnesota with focus on Mandarin language and culture and Global Studies.  She teaches Chinese with a number of organizations and schools around the Twin Cities, and privately tutors in-homes and businesses.  Dá Nī has worked at Sēn Lín Hú, the Chinese Language Village. She is also an accomplished musician with a particular interest in teaching the Chinese language to children through song.
