All the facilities at Salolampi combine a quaint, rustic, authentically Finnish feeling with entirely up-to-date safety features. The cabins, the dining hall, and the activities buildings feature Finnish language signage, Finnish-style architecture, and authentic décor representing the Finnish-speaking cultures of the world.

Cabins feature bunk beds and have minimal storage space, so keep that in mind while packing.  Adult and family program participants utilize bottom bunks only.

Climate
Minnesota is typical of a continental climate. The North Woods of Minnesota experiences the widest variety of weather in the United States. Each of the four seasons has its own distinct characteristics.  Although summers are generally hot and humid, it is normal to experience rain showers, thunderstorms and cool nights.  Summer temperatures average 85 F but can get down to 55 F.
