Our Spanish Language Village on Turtle River Lake near Bemidji, Minnesota, will make you feel as though you've been magically transported to a charming village in the Spanish-speaking world. The comfortable cabins and facilities are nestled in the beautiful North Woods of Minnesota. Birch, oak and pine forests offer shade on hot summer days. This site is known for spectacular sunsets, a cozy feel and the sound of loons.
We constructed El Lago del Bosque specifically for our Spanish language and cultural immersion programs. All the facilities combine a quaint, rustic feeling with entirely up-to-date safety features. The cabins, the dining hall, and the activities buildings feature architecture typical of the Spanish-speaking world, Spanish language signage, and décor representing Spanish-speaking cultures.
The cabins, El Comedor (the dining hall), El Centro de Actividades (the main activity building), and other facilities are situated around a plaza with a central fountain. Wooded paths lead to the lakefront beach and canoe area.

Climate
Minnesota is typical of a continental climate. The North Woods of Minnesota experiences the widest variety of weather in the United States. Each of the four seasons has its own distinct characteristics. Although summers are generally hot and humid, it is normal to experience rain showers, thunderstorms and cool nights. Summer temperatures average 85 F but can get down to 55 F, so keep that in mind while packing!
