Amy Elisa Ashbaugh is the dean of El Lago del Bosque-Marine on St. Croix (second half), the Spanish Language Village. She has been at the Villages for 6 years. While a student at Concordia, she served as a counselor and program assistant with Spanish Village Weekends. Now a faculty member in the Spanish department at Concordia College, she occasionally works a weekend herself, and she arranges Spanish weekend experiences for Spanish Club students.

Elisa's B.A. in Spanish is from Concordia College. She also earned an M.A. in translation and interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Education. She has had travel, study and work experience in Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Spain.

In addition to teaching Spanish at the college level, Elisa has taught students varying in age from five to 70, in both English and Spanish. She currently does freelance translation, editing, and interpretation projects, and has provided translation and interpretation services in various contexts in the past.
