John Baumgaertner

John Archie Baumgaertner began as dean of the English Language Village, Hometown, Brazil, in 2008.  He has been on staff at Concordia Language Villages' for 12 years, and was a villager at Waldsee, the German Language Village, for three years.  Prior to his leadership at Hometown, Brazil, Baumgaertner served as Assistant Dean at the English Language Villages in Ftan, Switzerland (Hometown, Europe) and Frontenac, Minnesota (Hometown, USA).  Baumgaertner is a native English speaker and has studied German, Japanese, and Spanish.
 
Baumgaertner graduated from University of Wisconsin, Madison with bachelor's degrees in Communication Arts and German Literature.  He currently resides in West Hollywood, where he runs his own film production business, Baum Squad Productions.
