Cuisine-Infused Curriculum
We take cuisine very seriously here at the Language Villages. Every meal is served with an exciting meal presentation which teaches villagers – in the target language – about the food they eat and regional cuisine.
Just like our curriculum, our meals are deeply rooted in affirmation of diversity. Every year, Village chefs introduce favorite ethnic dishes to more than 6,000 young people representing all 50 states and many foreign countries.
Each village has a select culinary staff dedicated to promoting the important link between language and culture. At mealtimes villagers feast on sumptuous “souvenirs” of other lands, along with generous helpings of traditions, history, geography, economics, and of course, language. Differences are regarded as prized opportunities to promote global understanding and responsible world citizenship.
