Winter is not a time of hibernation in Finland and not at Salolampi either! Enjoy indoor and outdoor winter activities, crafts, games, movies, music, saunas and delicious Finnish meals and snacks. Activities are planned for children and youth in groups, for adults, and for everyone together. Parents, children, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins can get together for a trip to the wintery woods of northern Minnesota.

PLUS...TRY THESE FUN ACTIVITIES!

  • Make birchbark crafts (tuohenpunonta)
  • Weave on our looms (kankaankudonta)
  • Cook Karjalan piirakat
  • Explore the Salolampi forest (bring your cross-country skis!)
  • Play the kantele
  • Sing familiar Finnish songs and learn new ones.
  • Relax in the hot sauna then take a roll in the snow!

Enjoy the sauna! This is also an ideal way to prepare for a trip to Finland or learn more about the heritage of family members.
