French (Hackensack, Minn.)
Gather among the towering pines by the beach for a lovely view of the sunset, order an Orangina at Café Libellule as you overlook the belle plage (beautiful beach), hear the loons calling as you drop off to sleep, experience the wonderful morning eye-opener of a dip in the lake, and warm up in the lakeside wood-burning sauna. At Lac du Bois in Hackensack, Minn., you'll be right next door to the beautiful Chippewa State Forest. Unique activities include a nature trail, outdoor skills program and canoe and orienteering instruction.
