Our Flagship Program Since 1961
For decades, youth have been growing up, spreading their wings and discovering the world at Concordia Language Villages. Our Summer Villages are a powerful combination of world language immersion, new cultural experiences and summer camp fun. With more than 150 sessions to choose from, locations at our own sites, at leased retreat centers and summer camps, our Summer Villages welcome you!

ONE-WEEK EXPLORATION (ages 7-15)
If you are a younger villager or a first-time villager, or if you’re just not sure you want to be away from home for longer than a week, a one-week exploratory session will help you "ease" into the immersion atmosphere. You don’t need to know any of the language when you arrive, and you’ll be surrounded by other kids your age who are also interested in making friends, having fun, and trying new things. You’ll enjoy the authentic meals, games, arts and crafts, sports, and songs, and you’ll be amazed by how much you’ve learned and how fast the week flies by.

TWO-WEEK IMMERSION (ages 8-18)
If you’re ready for a bigger adventure, and you really want to see your language skills take off, come to a two-week session. The additional time gives you the opportunity to explore the language in greater depth. You’ll learn more, understand more, and remember more. And with two weeks of swimming, canoeing, sports, traditional arts and crafts, new songs, new flavors, and new friends, you’ll be participating in the language with ease and confidence before you know it.

Two-Week Specialty Sessions
French Outdoor Adventure (Voyageurs)
THREE OR FOUR-WEEK IMMERSION (ages 12-14)
At any time, you can combine different sessions to experience the same language for more time, or try more than one language in the same summer. This session is designed for youth ages 12-14 who would benefit from the longer stay but are not yet the right age for our high school credit sessions. Villagers in these sessions generally are housed together to build camaraderie but share experiences with other youth in the two-week concurrent sessions at the same site.
FOUR-WEEK HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT (ages 14-18)
High school credit sessions allow villagers entering grades nine through 12 to earn a year’s worth of high school credit in the Village language while enjoying the fun of summer camp. Concordia Language Villages’ high school credit programs are approved by Commission on International and Transregional Accreditation and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement for providing the equivalent of 180 hours of classroom instruction in the language.

FOUR WEEK COLLEGE CREDIT (ages 16-18)
College credit sessions allow villagers with advanced language skills to earn a year’s worth of college credit in the target language while enjoying the fun of summer camp. Classes are small, allowing for individualization according to need and learning style. Open to grades 11-12 (entering high school junior or senior year, but not yet a fully enrolled college student, with three previous years of language study).
