Fred! NB 52 – the last two weeks of our summer – is the session devoted to matters related to peace. The Nobel Peace Prize awarded by Norway every year draws considerable attention to Norway as a nation. By so doing, it sets a standard by which Norway’s own commitment to peace initiatives is evaluated. The new curriculum was funded by the Norwegian American Foundation and has been produced by long-time staff member Magna and friends. The curriculum grounds peace-learning experiences in Norwegian events and issues, yet relates them to skills that matter to how we take care of ourselves and our neighbors – both locally and globally. By building on these kinds of experiences, we use lessons from Norway to help inform and evaluate our own approaches to peace wherever we may live."
