A Learning Vacation Family Fun Weekends provide the entire family—parents, children and grandparents—a language and cultural immersion experience together. Activities for all ages

Exciting activities like music, dance, arts and crafts, and sports engage the entire family (even young tots) in the learning process.

Adults and children spend time together at meals, evening programs, dancing, singing and enjoying the outdoors. But there are also special times set aside where kids get to be kids together, learning language through fun songs, games and play while the adults take a language or culture class, learn a new craft or visit with new friends.

Help Kids get a Head Start on Language Learning

Looking for a way to get your children excited about language learning? Weekends serve as great preparation for a family trip abroad or for a child's summer experience at the Villages. They are also a great way to explore family heritage or to learn about an entirely new culture.

What to bring

Bring bedding (sheets/blankets) and towels for each family member. For winter programs, bring your cross-country skis and snowshoes if you have them! For our spring program, you can bring bicycles if you wish. We have great paths for skiing, hiking and biking through the forest and alongside the lake.

All of our Family Weekends are held at our year-round architecturally authentic sites on Turtle River Lake near Bemidji, Minn.
