Finnish is spoken as a first language by more than 6 million people
around the world. Finnish is the official language of Finland and
the Republic of Karelia. It is one of the official languages in
the European Union. Finnish is also spoken in Russia, Sweden, Great
Britain, the USA, as well as other countries around the globe.
The state of Michigan enjoys the greatest number of native Finnish speaking communities in the
USA!
