Portuguese is spoken by over 210 million people. Seven countries have Portuguese as an official language, including Portugal and Brazil. Many other countries worldwide have a high concentration of Portuguese speakers. The European Union made Portuguese an official language in 1986. There are even 1.3 million speakers in the United States!
