An immersion option for villagers who are not ready to be away from home for two weeks. No previous exposure to the language is required. Villagers participate in similar language and cultural activities offered in the two week immersion session, including authentic games, crafts, sports and arts. Usually, villagers enroll in a two-week session the following year.
Longer sessions allow more focus on communication through extended cultural activities and language learning groups. These sessions are our most popular programs! They are designed to give the beginning, intermediate or advanced language learner an in-depth immersion experience. However, no previous language study is required for attendance. Villagers participate in language learning groups (with others at the same level of proficiency) that focus on communication in the Village setting, from morning to evening.
There are cultural activities to meet everyone’s interests, including sports, arts, dance, music, theater and film production, to name just a few. Each participant will have an opportunity to try brand-new things, as well as extend or enrich previously learned skills.
Waldsee, the German Language Village, also offers a four week immersion program for youth in grades 6-8. The same fun and excitement of Waldsee's core program await, but with more depth of experience and important preparation for high school. Kids can hone their language skills, deepen their friendships with pals from across the country and around the world, and simply enjoy the Spass und Abenteuer of life at Waldsee. The German village and many other programs also offer four week credit sessions for high school students, click here for more.
