What’s it like at the Villages? Although each program is a bit different, many things are similar from Village to Village. We hope you’ll discover, as thousands of villagers have already, an experience that you’ll remember for a lifetime.
Who are the staff members? First of all, Villages staff members are really fun and cool, and many of them have been villagers just like you. The counselors come from around the world and are excited about spending their summer at the Villages, making the language come alive in creative and exciting ways. You’ll be surprised how easy they are to get to know, and they are always ready to lend a helping hand as you experience all sorts of new things.
You’ll also meet all kinds of people your age, from places across the United States and the world, who are all unique in their own way, but with one thing in common: they are here to learn about language and culture, make lasting friendships, and above all, have a lot of fun!
Now, let’s look at a typical Village day for a two-week session. Four-week credit sessions have the same emphasis on learning outside as well as throughout the Village site, but they also account for a full year of high school language instruction by proficiency level.
