For nearly 50 years, Concordia Language Villages in the beautiful North Woods of Minnesota has been boldly and optimistically pursuing a
vision of peace through understanding by educating young people in the languages and cultures of our world.
Since 1961, Concordia Language Villages has grown from offering one German language program for 75 youth, to offering programs in
15 languages to 9,500 youth each year. What began as a program for young people aged 7-18, now includes adults and families, with
graduate credit seminar programs for teachers, adult and family weeks, family weekends and Elderhostel programs.
Concordia Language Villages envelops the idea of global understanding: through language, through culture, through the building of
Village community, and most importantly, through a fun learning experience. Your gifts help us to enrich the program, provide
scholarships and ensure ongoing support for years to come. Together it is possible to pursue a vision of peace through understanding
that extends throughout our global community.
Your support for the Leadership Fund provides the financial backing to expand successful programs and pursue new opportunities, such as adding
additional languages or developing programs for adults and families. By advancing efforts to reach language learners around the world, your gift to
the Leadership Fund will help Concordia language Villages achieve the inspiring potential of its mission. To learn more about the Leadership
Fund and how to support it please click here.
The Village Vision Fund enables Village deans and program directors throughout the organization
to pursue ideas that capture new facets of the cultures their programs represent, finding fresh
and exciting ways to bring those horizons into focus for the villagers they teach. Donations of both culturally authentic materials and financial
gifts help make these visions a reality. To learn more about the Village Vision Fund and how to support it please

The Passport Fund provides scholarship dollars that enable bright, motivated young people with limited financial means to attend Concordia Language
Villages' summer language immersion programs. A gift to the Passport Fund gives young people the opportunity to discover new languages and cultures
through Concordia Language Villages. To learn more about the Passport Fund and how to support it please click here.

In the early 1960s, as the United States saw the need to become increasingly more competitive internationally, interest in
Russian language and culture soared. In 1966 the opportunity was prime for Concordia Language Villages to add Lesnoe
Ozero, the Russian Language Village, to teach language and culture to young people in the context of peace through
understanding. Now, Concordia Language Villages has begun construction for a Russian Language Village on its property on Turtle
River Lake near Bemidji, Minn. Lesnoe Ozero is the sixth year-round architecturally authentic facility. To learn more
about how you can help build Lesnoe Ozero please click here. |
